    Frequently Asked Questions

    Do you take insurance?

I do not bill insurance. My clients pay for my services out of pocket. I am happy to provide you with a superbill so that you can submit a claim to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement if you have coverage.

What state(s) are you licensed in?

Most, but not all, states have licensure that guides where dietitians can offer their services. I am a Registered Dietitian licensed in the state of Ohio and Maryland. I am also able to see clients in Virginia and Michigan. If you live in a different state please alert me via the contact form or email. I will let you know if I’m able to support you at that time. If not, I’ll do my best to connect you with a dietitian who is practicing in your state.

    What is your approach?
    What is Intuitive Eating?

Intuitive Eating (IE) is an approach to food and eating that focuses on listening to your body’s internal hunger and fullness cues. It promotes mindfulness and encourages individuals to eat what they desire without strict diets. The practice involves honoring your cravings and acknowledging the emotional aspect of eating as well. Ultimately, IE aims to cultivate a healthy and balanced relationship with food, free from guilt and dieting pressures. Along with using the guiding principles of IE, your dietitian will also help you use past and present experiences with food and gentle nutrition education to assist you in meeting your unique goals.

What is Health at Every Size?

Health at Every Size (HAES) is a philosophy that challenges traditional weight-centric approaches to health. It emphasizes promoting well-being and positive health behaviors over focusing solely on body weight. HAES asserts that health is multi-dimensional and encompasses physical, mental and social aspects. It advocates for body acceptance and encourages individuals to pursue health goals that are attainable and sustainable for their unique bodies. The HAES approach seeks to reduce weight stigma and discrimination while promoting a diverse range of body sizes and shapes.
